Anonymous asked: I love your thoughts on bhna! sorry if this is too nerdy but I like Roxy's quirk, it has sooo muuch potential, maybe she can not only rearrange atoms but also nuclides? binding and unbinding neutrons and protons of atoms of an element to make it into another! Sort of like decay! She could create matter with a limit of how much energy does she has to convert it into matter, the danger is radiation, which is only dangerous with gamma particles, that could be freed if her state of mind is affected.

okay okay, there are my expanded thoughts re: Alphas Quirks

I think giving Roxy that expanded abilities would be basically a second Quirk? The way I was thinking about it was basically her Creation Quirk has nothing to do w the atoms outside of rearranging them. So like… she cannot make gold out of a tree, but she can make a crossbow? Mostly because I think a power like you’re describing is like. Nuclear decay yeah, which is something totally different (but pretty cool!). I think what I was going for with Roxy was basically she has to overcome her alcoholism to use her very powerful Quirk.

My thoughts with the Alphas are Jake and Roxy’s Quirks lend themselves to be more offensive because they are diverse in what they can do and are powerful, and Dirk and Jane’s are support.

Jane’s Quirk as a support is pretty obvious, but her’s moreso than everyone else’s takes a lot of planning ahead and also reading the situation way before things go south, so her arc would be addressing her canon lack-of-awareness of what’s around her.

I know Dirk’s sounds pretty powerful, but the way I was thinking about it was like. He keeps a bit of it activated 24/7 within his mechanical shades, which serve as a second pair of eyes for him, and can spot incoming danger and things faster than he can (basically a rudimentary AR). The closest parallel for Dirk’s Quirk is Tokoyami’s.

But the whole downside of his Quirk basically means that despite its powerful offensive potential, he’s really best kept as support/stealth/reconnaissance, where he can be in a controlled environment, and assist without making too many splinters in an effort to brute force a battle. The repercussions of overextending his Quirk in combat are just too great, and sit just too close on the precipice of being a danger to himself and others. Basically he’s gotta learn that hurting himself is not the only way to protect his friends.
